The Hitachi airH2O range uses R290, a natural refrigerant with a GWP of 3, for air-to-water heating and hot water. We stock the airHome airH2O 800 split system outdoor unit in single and three phase.
Both the single and 3 phase units are split systems, so the refrigerant circuit stays outdoors and only water pipework runs into the property, which keeps the indoor charge at zero.
R290 sits outside the F-Gas phase-down schedule, so specifying it now avoids the supply and cost pressure building on higher-GWP refrigerants over the next decade.
